Small things can last forever

The day she fell off her horse was the day that she lost her pride. A touch of dirt on her face was enough to ignite a self-loathing that suffocated her.

For years she fought the beast that was herself; for days on end she would seek a way to alleviate the pain she had to endure. Undying agony. Poor Ruby.

In a sense, she had never bothered to question the reasons behind her own actions – she hated to take responsibility for what was happening around her. Others began to despise her as well; Ruby burned bridges night and day.

In her spare time she added bricks to the wall around herself. She was nearly finished…

When she was in that hole, no sun could ever enter; no laughter ever made its way inside to echo within that lonely chamber. Her heart was frozen.

And even if it had not been so, she did not have anyone to share it with anyway.
